From Ed Marlo's The Cardician:THE MARLO MIRACLE. (The Phoenix, February, 1945)
Here is the closest possible thing to a miracle. Imagine an ordinary unprepared pack handed to anyone to shuffle thoroughly.
The Spectator is asked to cut the cards and remember the card he cut at. The cut is then replaced. During this process of cutting, looking at a card and replacing it, the cards are never out of the spectator's hands, not even laid on the table for the cut.
After the pack is perfectly squared, the card man tells the spectator to again shuffle the cards. Then, for the first time, the magician takes the pack.
Believe it or not, the magician finds the chosen card without resorting to any questions. He merely lays the card face down on the table and asks that it be named. Spectator himself turns the card over. It is the chosen card.
The cards are ordinary and borrowed, They are not stacked or tricked in any way. No gimmicks. Strictly impromptu.

Marlo at his most brilliant.
Time after time he delivers the innovation and cleverness that have made him famous. THE CARDICIAN is a classic of card magic.
