    Description

New Magic of Japan 1988, First and Limited Edition, 1/50 copies
Compilation by Japanese magician Hiroyuki Sakai
Text by Phil Goldstein and Richard Kaufman
    Illustrations by Ton Onosaka
    Line Drawings by Tomohiro Maeda
Published in 1988 by Richard Kaufman and Alan Greenberg in the USA. This is the English version of the Japanese edition.
This hardcover book is the deluxe edition, signed by the legendary magician Sakai and the text author/publisher Richard Kaufman. One of only 50 copies, this is #8. It is bound in red cloth with matching slip case, silver foil on front cover and spine and is in as new condition. No flaws, it has not been read or used, a very fine copy for collectors.
The book compiles tricks from 25 Japanese magicians, each magician providing a trick from their repertoire. Big names like Shigeo Takagi, Tomohiro Maeda, Masao Atsukawa, Kuniyasu Fujiwara and Dr. Sawa all have their excellent contributions in here. The genres of tricks is pretty wide, covering both close-up magic and stage magic. There is even a card flourish in here, designed to be used in a stage manipulation act - Naoki Ogi’s “The Three-Sixty Fan” allows you to fan a deck of cards into a full circle using only one hand.
