CLEARING OUT OUR ARCHIVES!
A superb and rare image of the very first racing MV Agusta ever made, the 125 two stroke of
1949.
After World War II there was an incredible demand for cheap transport in
Italy
. Many Italian factories decided to build motorcycles, and some new factories were found just for that. In these early post war years the MV Agusta factory produced a DKW RT125 clone, but soon this was replaced with a bike of their own design. In true (later) MV fashion this was an ultra sportive machine that immediately was succesfull in racing. The engine was a very smartly build and tuned 125cc two stroke vertical single. The early MV racing successes were all booked with this machine.
Shown on the photo is Franco Bertoni, who won the Grand Prix of Nations on the circuit of
Monza
in 1949.
To find an image of this machine is extremely rare, as it was only raced for a short time. Therefore this image will be a terrific addition to any MV enthusiast's collection. The early singles are not as famous as the later MV four cylinder machines, like the 750 S and the 750 America etc., but they were as successfull in racing.
This is your rare chance to own an image that reflects a very interesting piece of M.V. Agusta 's glorious history. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 11.8" (ca. 20 x
30 cm
).
