    Description

A superb and rare photo of the
B.M.W. 500cc Rennsport factory sidecar racing machine
    of 1956. It is the
    M253 “Zweibolzer”
(a.k.a. “two bolter”, because of the two bolts that hold the valve cover on each cylinderhead). This magnificent machine delivered a power output of 50 bhp at 8,500 r.p.m.
It is a rare, gorgeous image of this rare machine, as most (later) BMW racing machines featured the RS 54 style four bolt valve cover mounts; and they were equipped with the Earles type leading link fork at the front together with the swingarm at the rear (instead of plunger rear suspension). It is a gorgeous image of the rare Rennsport Baumuster 253 Zweibolzer 500cc factory racer. With one of the successors
    Walter
    Zeller
    finished as
    2
    nd
    in the 500cc world championship
    behind
    John
    Surtees
    on a 500cc M.V. Agusta four!
    It is a very nice
    non period
photo that reflects a wonderful era of BMW’s rich history in a wonderful way. This is your rare chance to own this photo, therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 12" (ca.20 x 30 cm).
