You are bidding ona
5x7 color photo of NY Central RR Putnam Division NY City-bound at Crafts
station in March 1958.
This photo was made from a Kodachrome original slide that I own of the New York Central Railroad's long-gone Putnam Division. Passenger service on this line started in 1871, and ended on May 29, 1958. Service from Brewster via the Putnam Division and the Lake Mahopac branch via Lincolndale & Golden's Bridge through to Grand Central lasted until April 6, 1959. This line was single-tracked with passing sidings along it's entire route, which ran from it's Sedgwick Ave. terminal in the Bronx through towns that could have really used this line today, terminating at Brewster on the Harlem Division. The photographer was the late Frank Schlegel. Any blemishes that may be on this photo are also on the original slide, and can not be helped.
